the pen and the sword..
I just cant get around to writing nowadays. Lost the motivation to do so. I dont know why. maybe the medium has something to do with it. The very soul of an article. Somehow words come much more freely on paper than here. Somehow the worlds most convenient, fast and ever developing medium which is mans greatest step to the future takes a back seat to the most conventional ways of storing information. Somehow the papyrus where the Greek symbols were stored is more important than this blog.
Kind of like comparing a sword to a B-65 bomber . Its just a charm lost in the pertinent knowledge of such an elegant and skillful means of attack. You see i cant even say attack and defense when i say the names bomber and sword in the same breath. With a sword there are rules. You attack too hard and I defend. I move with a precision few can counter yet if you can it means that you have more than a fiery spirit in you. You attack i defend. I attack you defend. The clashing of swords a symphony only heard in the passage of those singular moments of concentration. The graceful movements, a synchronised pattern of both attacker and defender, each one only slightly influencing the other not in the heart or body or mind or soul but the eye. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and so does his next move. The whole sequence a dance, a ballet of survival where both attacker and defender know that in the slightest case of a loss of concentration the thin blade sharper than his eye will slice through him noiselessly and insignificantly in a manner of speaking but to him the difference between sweet life and sweeter death. As he falls he knows he has lost not to his opponent but to himself. A loss where he will smile not to death but to the pretty white angels who have come to take him.
The bomber – well the devil presses a button. Hell’s been sent with a hiss and with a hiss it ends. No attack . No defense. The very plainness of the whole process is so unnerving that it turns ugly.
That’s how it is though. You must have lost the thread if at all youre reading. I have too. But yeah I don’t like this medium. Being a hypocrite here but cant help it. After all its not the sword but the bomber that is being used to capture the oil market some where in the middle east, over some mountains and snow in south asia and for a fence in east Europe. Needless to say the swords best place is a museum now and so will be the written word.
